This one-day workshop formed part of the Roots and Wings project run annually by artsdepot to support women and girl refugees . Working with professional photographer Poppy Szabo the women, aged between 16 and 85 years, created a collection of photos exploring identity, language, cultural heritage, family and making new lives in the UK. They learnt how to create individual felt pieces before collaborating to create three large felted and rolled panels used to exhibit a series of photographs exploring women as makers in their own countries. The work was exhibited at artsdepot in 2008.
