Jackson’s Lane Community Centre has undergone a revival. I visited a few years ago when my daughter was younger to see the spectacular Insect Circus children’s show. They now have snazzy lettering, a snappy website and more importantly Arts Council funding which means that on top of their regular theatre workshops they’re now able to run community participation projects. I was invited along to run a Blue Peter style feltmaking demonstration for their over 60s lunch group and felt very welcomed and not too much of a lunatic trying to explain this bizarre artform without a hands-on workshop. Here I am getting very excited about a piece of wool and sharing felting anecdotes!
